Educational AI  ·  EdTech  ·  Teacher Training

Hi, I’m Phil. I help educators thrive in the age of AI.

Twenty-five years as a teacher, school leader and education adviser — in the UK and internationally, with ministries of education, school groups and thousands of teachers. Now I build the AI that carries that work into every classroom.

The belief behind all of it

Technology should give teachers more time to be human — not less. I build and champion AI that makes education fairer, faster and more personal, because every child deserves a great teacher, wherever they go to school.

What I do

Four kinds of work.
One throughline.

Everything below starts in a classroom and ends in a classroom. The tools only exist because the training kept running into the same wall: great teaching is hard to see, hard to measure and hard to sustain at scale.

  1. 01

    Teacher development

Setting The Standard — nine sessions, 27 masterclass videos and more than 15 hours of training, accredited by The CPD Standards Office and built on the evidence of how students actually learn. English and Arabic, one certificate.

  2. 02

    Lesson analysis

Learnalyze turns lesson video into evidence. Upload a lesson and the AI analyses it like a trained observer — personalised, actionable feedback for the teacher, and objective whole-school data for leaders.

  3. 03

    Admissions & enquiry

Gatehouse is the AI host for a school’s website. She answers parents’ questions at nine o’clock at night, in whatever language they ask in, out loud or in writing — then captures the enquiry and hands the admissions team the follow-up already written.

  4. 04

    Advice & speaking

Ministries of education, school groups and international schools. Curriculum and assessment authorship, national advisory work, and training and speaking in more than ten countries.

“The greatest privilege in education isn’t standing on a stage speaking to teachers — it’s seeing those teachers inspire children in classrooms months later.”

About

A little about me.

I started in the classroom. Twenty-five years later I have been a teacher, a school leader and a national education adviser; I have written curriculum and assessment materials; and I have trained teachers in more than ten countries.

I founded Elm Education on one belief: every child deserves a great teacher, wherever they go to school. Everything I build now — the training programme, the analysis engine, the admissions assistant — comes back to that. The work has taken me to ministries of education, school groups and thousands of teachers across the UK, the Gulf and beyond.
